Share Environment

Objective

This guide explains how to use Share Environment on Ruk-Com Cloud PaaS, with ordered procedures and practical verification points.

Before you begin

• Sign in with an account permitted to manage the relevant environment.
• Confirm the target environment, region and resources before saving changes.
• Create a backup or rollback plan before changing a production system.

The customer who first created the environment becomes its owner and can share it with other users. It specifies the relevant access rights for each environment.

Owners- The owner has full control over the environment.

Users- Users can perform various operations within the shared environment such as deploying applications, changing config, reading log files, viewing statistics, etc. The only exception is that users cannot clone the environment.

Additionally, environment owners can allow users to change the topology and access it via SSH.

Charges for the environment are billed only to the owner (shared environment users are not charged).

Ruk-Com Cloud Environment can be shared with:

• Registered Ruk-Com Cloud account
• An unregistered email address that will be automatically signed up.
  

The sharing process can be slightly different, so let's review the two types of sharing process.

Sharing an environment with a registered account

To share your environment with more Ruk-Com Cloud users and assign the appropriate permissions, follow these instructions:

1. Open Environment settings -Settings

2. SelectCollaborationThen click the Add button to add the email address of the user you want to share the environment with.

3. Click the buttonSaveYou will then see the emails added to the list and a triangle.It means the invitation has been sent.

4. The user will then receive an email notification with an invitation to join the collaboration. Once the email has been verified the user will be automatically registered and will receive a notification email with a reference to their Ruk-Com Cloud account. You will be notified about this confirmation by email.

• Note:At this stage the user simply registers and adds collaboration with you. But the environment has not been shared yet. You will need to go through the sharing steps again.

  Users will receive a notification about the shared environment.

Newly registered users will get a trial by default. As such, trials are subject to limitations imposed by the hosting provider and accounts will be closed after the trial period ends. unless the account is changed to a paid account.

Detailed information about your account limits can be found on the "Restrictions" tab.Balance > Quotas & Pricing > Account Limits

Note:Hosting providers can customize these quotas. For example, users can stay on trial but are prohibited from creating environments for exchange and sharing. This environment can be done through the account settings at Interoperability.account collaboration(Click on the link for more details)

Environment sharing management

To manage the environments you share or have shared with you You can select the button.SettingTop right corner of the Ruk-Com Cloud Dashboard.

Go to Collaboration, there will be 2 options: Share by Me and Share with Me (depending on your needs) and manage the settings as desired.

• If you own the Environment
  
  OptionsShare by MeYou can remove access to your environment for other users or restrict access by clicking the option.Change topology/SSH access

• If you are a user of another environment
  
  OptionsShare with MeYou can reject shared environments.
