gTLD + IDN Domain Names Support

Objective
This guide explains how to use gTLD + IDN Domain Names Support on Ruk-Com Cloud PaaS, with ordered procedures and practical verification points.
Before you begin
- Sign in with an account permitted to manage the relevant environment.
- Confirm the target environment, region and resources before saving changes.
- Create a backup or rollback plan before changing a production system.
In the Internet community, great efforts have been made to make domain names available in multiple languages other than those using the Latin alphabet, and now with IDN (International Domain Name) technology, you can add almost any Unicode character, which outnumbers the commonly used ASCII characters in domain names. This is possible by converting such characters to standard view with the help ofPunycode
Ruk-Com Cloud supports this intention and allows users from all over the world to use their native language (e.g. symbols). In addition to pre-existing Latin characters such as Cyrillic or Egyptian hieroglyphs), when setting environment names and aliases, such names are displayed correctly throughout the dashboard and when accessing accounts via the SSH console. You can also easily bind external IDNs to your environment following the same workflow as normal custom domain names.
Another specific category of domain names isgTLD (Generic Top-Level Domains)It is maintained by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) and was originally intended for use by certain types of organizations and companies. Here, "generic" refers to the fact that the name is not tied to a specific country and can theoretically be used by anyone anywhere in the world. Integrating a gTLD with a PaaS allows users to tie the domain name as a suffix to the end of the address (e.g..org,.academy,.best, etc.) to their environment.
So let's see how to use it with a specific domain name in Ruk-Com Cloud hosting.
Default Environment IDN Domain
1. You can take advantage of using IDN while naming the Environment through the topology wizard.
Pre-configure your environment and enter any desired language name in the environment name field below (the only restriction) - it must be longer than 5 symbols, then click.Create

Note:Your environment name cannot begin with “xn–” because the address is reserved for IDN representation in ASCII.
2. The environment creation process will proceed normally in a few minutes. Your new environment will be added to the dashboard.
3. If you open your browser environment using IDN, you will get a URL similar to what you see in the image below:
This is the domain name of the example environment shown in Punycode (how to display Unicode with a limited subset of ASCII characters) to avoid awkward link views. You can bind custom domain names to your environment (including IDN names).
4. Additionally, you can define the alias for your environment (or for separate nodes in it) in your native language to make your work easier.
