Objective

This guide explains how to use Infrastructure Level on Ruk-Com Cloud PaaS, with ordered procedures and practical verification points.

Before you begin

  • Sign in with an account permitted to manage the relevant environment.
  • Confirm the target environment, region and resources before saving changes.
  • Create a backup or rollback plan before changing a production system.

Ruk-Com Cloud can be installed on bare metal servers or specialized IaaS IT infrastructure offerings such as OpenStack, vSphere, AWS, Azure, Rackspace, and others. The number of hardware nodes in a cluster depends on the cluster load forecast and is usually determined during the on-boarding process.

Hardware Nodes are large physical servers or virtual machines (replicated via KVM, ESXi, Hyper-V, etc.). Ruk-Com Cloud divides large servers/Virtual Machines into smaller virtual containers suitable for user environments. This division is the basis for resource utilization within Ruk-Com Cloud's industrial systems.

Each container orchestration environment provides the required software for the specific application and other system conveniences. During environment creation, the requested containers are taken from the pre-built template repository to speed up system provisioning. It takes a while to get a complex environment up and running. Each stack is stored as a separate container, which reduces the risk that one stack could be in another.
