SCENARIO 01

HA: recover VMs within the cluster

When a host fails, VM HA can restart VMs on an available node. Recovery requires spare capacity and healthy storage and networking; a VM restart still involves interruption.

Can we deploy at our own site, or must we use Ruk-Com Datacenter?
Both options are available: deploy private cloud at your premises or host it in Ruk-Com Datacenter, using dedicated Virtuozzo infrastructure. We assess site readiness, connectivity, administrative access and operations scope before delivery. On-site work and cross-site DR are specified separately in the proposal.
What is Virtuozzo Infrastructure?
A commercial cloud infrastructure platform built on OpenStack technology, combining compute, software-defined networking and software-defined storage with portal and API management.
How does this differ from operating OpenStack ourselves?
Virtuozzo maintains and tests a commercial stack with subscription support. Ruk-Com provides scoped architecture and operations. Your organization still defines access, policies and application ownership together with our team.
Does HA include backup and DR?
Cluster HA helps recover VMs after a host failure. Backup and DR require workload-specific retention, recovery destinations, capacity, RPO/RTO and testing. The proposal defines the scope and costs.
Can I run both VMs and Kubernetes?
Virtuozzo Infrastructure supports KVM virtual machines and Kubernetes clusters with persistent volumes and worker groups, subject to the selected version and configuration. Virtuozzo Application Management PaaS is a separate product.
How do migration and pricing work?
We assess workloads and dependencies to plan migration, downtime windows, cutover and rollback, then quote cluster sizing, hardware, licenses and required services. Any PoC is scoped and agreed separately.
What does Ruk-Com handle, and what does our team own?
Our local team provides 24/7 support intake and scoped infrastructure operations, including vendor coordination. The service agreement assigns OS, database, application, patching, backup and change permissions explicitly.
